Le Percnoptère d'Egypte

NAME:  family: accipitridae, Neophron Percnopterus (meaning: black wing in Greek).

 

DESCRIPTION: white with black wing tips.
Its head and neck are not bare like those of the griffon vulture and the feathers of its head are ruffled.

A bare yellow-orangy skin covers its head. Airborne, its wings are tapered and its relatively long tail is cuneiform. The primaries are black.

 

 

BODY MEASURMENTS: the smallest in the vulture family with a wing span of 1.65 metres, a height of 53 - 59 cm and a weight of 2 kilos.
